Antenna?

I'm sure there's an easy answer this question...but I haven't found it yet. I was looking at a bunch of new 325's on a dealer's website the other day and noticed that some of them have (what looks like a shark-fin antenna) on the roof just above the rear windshield. Others don't have them. This was a dealer in Louisiana and I haven't seen any of these fin-like things in Canada. Is it a satellite radio option?

I was at the dealership the other week and saw the same shark fins on all the new 3ers. The young salesman told me that they are new and are for the new satallite radio. That's all I know...I haven't read anything about it.

Just wait for this to hit E46fanatics.com. They'll all be tripping over each other to get aftermarket fins to glow in the same color as their Halo battery drainers.

I thought those things were cellphone antennas.

i know as antenna for GPS system... wonder what other purposes that lil shark can deal with. i like that design. i have seen several A8 with the GPS unit on the trunk. an ugly cubicle. the fin is at least sporty stylish and exotic.
