AIWA x/AUX Front Input

I just had an AIWA CDC-X304 head unit installed in my 1991 525i. My main reason for chosing this unit was the 3.5mm AUX input mounted on the front which I intend to connect my iPod to. Both the CD player and the AUX sources does not work. No sound comes out of the speakers but input is received because the level is moving. The tuner works fine and sounds great.

What could be the problem? Incorrect installation? Defective unit? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have nearly the same deck in my car and I have had no issues. I would check the wiring harness to see if the speakers are properly hooked up...

I'm hoping it is an installation issue and not a defective deck. Thanks for your suggestion. I'll have them double-check the harness.

they probably forgot to hook up the remote turn on lead, for the amplifier.

Thanks for the tip jszar. I'll make sure to mention that to the installers when I bring it back tomorrow. Not much of a audio guy so 1 questions:

1. Doesn't the tuner, CD, and aux sources all use the same output/speaker connections?

yep, everything is recieved through different connections, but put out the same.
