so it happened to me multiple times tonight on the way home.
it usually becomes a bigger issue on hills.

bunch o passing drivers high beam me, thinking that i'm blasting them w/ my highbeams. when in fact, i'm just lighting up the road with my cool xenons.

now i have to drive w/ my left hand on the high beam stalk, just to let them know that "no jackass! i'm not high beaming you, do you wanna see a high beam?!"

of course i have a similar reaction to others w/ xenons, esp the mercs. somehow the mercs have more annoying xenons than the rest..

anyone care to share their experiences with one of the coolest lighting inventions of late?

If I drive with my fogs off, people seem to like flashing me. My high beams are very bright and i dont think people like it when I hit 'em back.

The adjustment behind your head-lamps could be a bit off. the passenger side head lamp should be a bit higher. E-46s have an adjusting knob to switch it in countries like Japan, England, Australia etc where you drive on the right side of the road. Yours could have been wrongly adjusted at the dealer when you took it for service

It happens to me all the time. I don't think my lights are out of adjustment. I see other cars with xenon lights and think to myself "Hey buddy, why don't you turn your high beams off!" Then I realize he is just like me, just very good low beams!

You have to remember, the xenon light is on high beam at all times. The way it switches from high to low is a little flapper inside the light that cuts off half the light, theoretically. It is basically blocking the top half of the light, so if you go over a hill or bump in the road and your front end comes up, you are effectively shooting the oncoming car with your high beams.

It is a great option for the driver bad deal for oncoming traffic.

I go for drives at night just to use my xenon headlights. I think they are great!!

I have bi-xenons in the ML, man those things are bright, I havent had anyone high beam me yet, although the ML's xenons are fairly well leveled not to bother people too much, high beams are just blindingly strong..

An X3 in my area was looking for a spot and the guy had both bulbs on.. talk about brighter than the sun... Xenons can be quite the annoyance =/

Speaking of annoying Xenons, I think Acura wins hands down. People hate those high beams so much that they go out at night and steal them off parked cars in an effort to save the eyes of others, and make a few bucks for themselves... [hihi]
