I've got a sub/amp box that I had in my old Mark 3 Supra that worked great -- PPI amp and 2 10" subs. I simply want to install that box it into the BMW without replacing the OEM headunit. With the battery in the back and the OEM 6"X9" subs being right in the trunk, I imagine this job is very easy. My questions are:
1) Do they make any line coverters (Speaker inputs -> RCA's) these days that are worth anything? If so, which brand? Ones I've seen in the past have sucked bringing in lots of noise.
2) Should I keep the OEM 6"X9" subs installed after adding my 10" subs, take them out completely, or install full range 6"X9"s in their place?
3) Pictures are great. If anybody out there has pictures/links to exactly which wires I should splice into for the line converter, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks for your help. I've only got 300 miles on her so far. At first, I thought the HK would be sufficient, but it really does need more bass. Thanks again.
