I was involved in an accident about an hour ago. A girl turned into my lane and hit my front corner. We were going 15 mph at the most, probably 5-10. It turned out to be a good thing though... She was cited for it, and I'll be getting new paint on my corner (which just started chipping off today
). It was just a rub, I couldn't even feel the cars hit, I just saw them. As for the corner, I don't care... I'm going to use my clears and smoke them. And no damage to the wheel as I was turning to avoid collision so it was under the fender. There are no dents or anthing, just scratches, so FREE PAINT JOB! She has the same insurance as I do, so they'll cover me.

What ever happened to "jerking or swinging" the car to the right and/or braking to avoid her absent minded manuever. (I have done it many times to avoid NYC Taxis, last thing I need is a crown victoria ripping off my bumper) But at least she got cited, usually in NY the police equally distribute the fault especially if you're a guy and its with a girl. [rolleyes] Just hope your insurance doesn't go up enough to outweigh the cost of the paintjob.

Out of curiosity, what kinda car did she have? What damage did she have?

Cool, that is how I was able to get the big dent in my door fixed. When I was rear ended, I just told the fix-it shop to fix the door while they were fixing the rear. Good that you weren't hurt. I know it probably still hurt the pride a little though, didn't it?

LOL. I probably wouldn't go up to her if I saw here anywhere, but if she came to me, I'd hit it. (There ARE more attractive people, but she wasn't bad). And yes, I have her phone number, address, etc etc. She's Korean. [;)] Her brother went to my school.

She was driving a '97 Mazda 626. Both her passenger-side doors were scratched, and right behind her rear wheel-well.

I'm probably going to get it estimated and have someone we (my work) know(s) paint it for really cheap, save some money to paint the lowers or something. *I work at a dealership, where my dad's friend is the boss [:)]... We got connections.

*Oh, and I couldn't really avoid it completely by turning, without hitting the curb, ruining a wheel, blowing a tire, and adding to the list of damage and subtracting from her list of damages.[B)]

Heck, I know someone who avoiding a taxi turning into her lane on a bridge on-ramp swerved and hit the guard rail. The Taxi driver just kept going. His car wasn't hit in any way, even though technically he caused the accident so he didn't care. So let me edit what I said: Swerve or turn to avoid the accident unless it will inflict damage on your car. Sometimes it's better to hit them/get hit as opposed to running yourself off the road, and getting nothing.
