I've said it all-along: Audi offers a great product and their A6 is a serious contender for my next purchase. How beautiful is that interior??

"The A6 wins by a nose-despite the choppy ride and the less than compelling steering. Its engine produces more midrange punch, it is fitted with the most intuitive transmission, and it has the best brakes, the nicest cabin, and the most appealing ergonomics."

The problem with Audi is there are so damn many of them, I can't go into town without seeing a least one any given time of the day, during the day there's hundreds downtown, the same is true for Mercedes, but only a handful of BMW's. I love it.

New bmw's are ugly, disconnected from the road, and very complex. Hopefully they will go back to the ways that made them popular in the 80's. I sure as hell don't remember any BMW ads before 2001. They sold themselves. Now they need ads.

Yeah, but the thing is, BMW sells way more than Audi. Despite all the contraversy regarding the new 7-series, I can't tell you how many people in my area are rolling around in one. And it seems like I see a 7-series almost everyday with temporary plates (meaning brand new).

My uncle has the new 745 and despite its exterior looks, it drives WAAAAAY better than the previous model (which he had also, a 740iL Sport). Aside from looks, the new 7 is an insanely better car and I think everybody is realizing this now! [headbang]

The new 7 series is VERY ugly compared to the E38. The E38 has extremely classy and timeless looks, its what bmw USED to be all about.

What? That must be a phenomena unique to your area. Like Mr.E. said, BMW sells way more 7/5s than Audi sells A8/A6s. In fact, I always thought one of the hidden perks of having an Audi was more exclusivity for less money. I see plenty of 7ers and S-classes, but rare is the day I see an A8.

Audi's sales are rising, but they're still behind BMW and M-B--a good thing in my book. Total U.S. year to date sales for Audi: 63,388. All A8s sold in October: 776.

Total U.S. BMW sales in 2003: 277,000. In June 2004, BMW sold 1628 7 series--more than double the number of A8s Audi sold in its best month.

you really can't base how well a car is selling by what you see on the road in your area. the cheese country gets fair bit of snow, so they would prefer awd capabilities of the audi. since i live in the mo town, i see quite a bit of american cars, and lots and lots of SUVs and minivans, but i'm sure that's not the case everywhere else.

anyway, i hate the gaping mouth of the new a6. altho if it wants to get a mouth full of the 5er's ass that just blasted by, be my guest [:p] E class has the best looks imo, but 5er is quickly growing on me. m5 did help a lot. as for me, i'm perfectly happy w/ my 3, and maybe when i'm in the market again.. say 10 years from now, i'll see what bmw comes up with, w/or w/out bangle.
