Well since I last posted (well aside from the brake post) the car was in storage. Now with some spare time on my hands I decided to go for another mod.

The pads were shot from sitting for so long, and the rotors have some pits in them from rust. So instead of replacing $80 pads... I opeted to spend over $1100 on misc parts to make the m3 even better! hehe (I didnt think the car could get any better either!)

No parts are in yet but I am going to bring the m3 back to my garage next week or so to tackle this project then get the exhaust done, if the weather allows it, we seem to be having a rather ***** winter right now.

Picked these bad boys up

From a 95 m3, TMS brass bushings, rebuild under 20k ago, and free pads :) cost about $175 shipped for a front set

I tried to grind all the old paint and grease off as best as I could, this looked ok at the time

I was going to get some G2 epoxy based caliper paint, I have seen it used and it turns out wonderful, but I got a cift card to checker auto for christmas and since I never shop there really I thought I would just pickup some of their paint and have a go at it.

Ended up turning out ok.. not as good as I had hoped, but I think it will look fine behind a wheel.

Well with the new bigger calipers means new bigger rotors, 12.4 inches to be exact, which means my 15" rims wont fit. So I bought these :)

They are reps only weighing 21 LBS each, which is within normal range for a 17" rim. Only $450 shipped, so after shipping thats under $100 a rim, cheap as hell! I wont feel so bad if I bash one on a curb, as opposed to maybe a OEM T-Star or something, if I bashed one of those I might cry for a week. I mainly plan on just assraping wheels, tires, and brakes.

Anyways, thought you guys might be interested. I am going to try and get the car titles before april so I can make it to bimmerfest!

Equate, I envy your garage, I wish I had one, I have a workshop but not a garage GRR, Your e30 is going to rule. Keep the updates coming. 1100 dollars for all that $hit is nothing, I can't even get a ECU chip for the AMG for that kind of money, good work =)

hehe

well the rims I have now I can resell for more than what I got the new ones for. $1100 includes tires which I would have to buy even if I kept the old rims. So deducting those "costs" the brake upgrade was only around $465. And I needed New pads and rotors anyways which would run a solid $200 costing me a grand total of $265 for the brake upgrade.
