Looks great man, congrats! Give us some more exterior pictures of the car if you can. I have seen a couple on the road already, they look really great in person.

I'm not to sure about the parking brake on top of the gear lever.

I have to say I've grown attached to the new X5. Maybe one should be in my garage.

Nice car. I saw a Space Gray X5 yesterday at my dealer; it's the first time I've seen the color in person. It's a great color choice. Love that new shifter; I was hoping they'd surprise us and stick it in the new 335 vert. They probably will next year.

lookin damn nice
[}:)] He he he. I knew when I saw pictures a few months ago, I loved it, and the minute I took it for a test drive....I knew I had to have it. I still love the E53 model, but this new X5 (E70) just rocks in every way. BMW totally hit it out of the park!!

Thanks a lot! I am really happy with Space Gray. The dealership said it will "become the new titanium silver". We'll see.

Yeah, the shift lever is awesome. I was a bit skeptical at first (as I am with all BMW "improvements" on something that works perfectly :) , but the new joy stick gear selector is great. It does free up the center console considerably, and it gives a lot more storage space. It's easy to use, and I think it just looks really cool.

The parking brake sits behind the gear selector (like on my A6, and also like on the Range Rover). Once you get used to activating & deactivating the electromechanical park brake with a touch of a finger... a handle or foot brake seems so dated. It works so well, and it's easy and fun to use.

You should put one in your garage [:D] Warning...once you drive it, it will haunt your dreams until you get one. I honestly think it's that awesome. It really feels like driving a 4x4 5 or 7 Series. It handles so well, and just feels amazingly solid. BMW done good!

I noticed my dealer has about 14 new in inventory, Half are 4.8i! I'd like to see that up against the new Cayanne Turbo S, the Turbo vs the E53 4.8, the X5 beat it badly.

Hmmm

I see that the 2004 X5 4.8 is conveniently gone..... [thumb]

I do have a question, if there was not enough space to park the X5 4.8, and it gets driven only at work, then why would you keep the 7 series and the X5 even bigger cars at home? Sure you didn't say you did, but I have to wonder. I love how on all of your pictures, we will never find an actual California plate, no matter how old the car is. I find it interesting that the paper Century West plates are always in pristine condition, rain or shine regardless of how long you have owned the vehicle.

Your statement that the "X5 is gone" which you ammended to "gone in the sense that it's at work" still doesn't feel solid. Sure, If I had the time, I could wait longer and wait untill you trip up again, but I'd rather throw this out in advance, since obviously a large number of members enjoy following and playing the game. So explain, why we will never see California plates on your cars... Also explain why Century west builds the worlds most durable paper license plate advertisements, are they plastic?

Lastly, if you wanted to balance out the stable, why not trade the X5 for an X5. (btw your choice gets poorer gas mileage and it is also actually slower than the 4.8is and less sporty) as opposed to trading the Audi for an X5 and the X5 for a 750iL. I don't buy it, not for a second. I also don't want to see the "pink slip". A business owner driving a 750Li, or simply getting a 7 series to drive oneself around in with extra leg room in the back does not make sense. Also the practical argument, that you made perviously for trading the M3 for a ultra-tiny-backseat 330i does not hold water anymore either.

We can all go "wow" or "rude" or "this board is taken so seriously" or whatever else, I couldn't care less. I just felt compelled to share my opinion.

As for the comment by the Wisconsin Enthusiast, the 4.8 may have outdid the cayenne turbo, BUT, the new 4.8 is much heavier and slower than the pervious, we're talking 6.4 seconds to 60mph which is manual E46 330i territory. Unless BMW sticks the 500hp V-10 in that 6000lb German version of the H2, it wont be competing with the Cayenne at all.... [kick]

Here in CA, we get "paper" vanity plates until our license plates come in. They are always made of hard plastic, to endure hot sun, and our infrequent, but heavy rains. Century West is our closest dealer, and we know the owner, and salesperson quite well. We have purchased all but 2 of our cars there (M3 and Z8 were from Stevens Creek in San Jose).

Seriously, you really need some help dude!

This is getting redundant now. I am aware of your DMV issues, and your paper vanity plates. I want an explanation of why your 3yr old X5 had BRAND NEW LOOKING "PAPER VANITY" Plates. I dont care how many people attest to californias DMV issues and the paper plates. It does not matter, you never have one single car with actual plates on it, regardless of how long you have owned it. I suspect that your dealer is a friend of the family and he lets you drive these cars. So there, you own none, but you get to drive them for some reason, or what not. Stop the ownership trolling, the end.

You're truly demented dude. The 3 year old X5 had CA license plates (as do all our cars, once they arrive & we screw them on!), registered to us. When I originally posted the pictures, the car was brand new. I didn't realized you are so insecure and jealous, that new pictures had to be posted, when actual license plates arrived from Sacramento. I guess when our plates arrive for the new X5, and 750Li, I have to post pictures. Even though we know the people at Century West, dealers don't just let friends and family take home brand new, very expensive cars and rack up miles and wear and tear.

I think our Moderators should lock this post, so you can't post anymore crazy and untrue posts. You're a sick ass man. Get some help. Jealousy is one of the most horrible traits to have!

Normally I wouldn't even waste my time with nuts like you, but I don't like my integrity insulted on our board, which besides from you, is full of awesome people.

Here, you crazy SOB, here's my contract for my 2007 X5, showing my VIN#, my name, and my city.

You should seriously get some psycho help asap!

Adam your "integrity" has never been in question here and should not be at this time. Most people do not post photos of their license plates for the obvious reasons. Enough is enough here Adam "deutsch100" is a positive and contributing member here and I for one respect him have the utmost confidence in him. I am locking this thread from further posts due to the negative tone it has taken.
