740 iL stock 6 CD changer says "No Discs"

Any ideas on what to do. BMW will probably want to replace the 6 CD case but for an arm and a leg. I rather just get a newer 6 CD changer. Any ideas? It's a 98 740iL with the CD changer in the trunk (standard location)

The one in my 750 would do that on occassion, if I removed it and reinserted it it worked fine. Best of luck with it.

I had a cd changer do that to me, It wasnt a bmw cd changer though. I ended up having to change the angle that the laser reads the cd. I cant remember the brand...It was some cheap thing that played mp3's thats the only reason i bought it. I would tell you how i did it but i really need to go to school ill post it later
