Well, it never gets hot enough in SF so you're gonna have to use the hair dryer method. Take a hair dryer, and then blow it on high against the letters for a few minutes. This is to heat up the glue. THen take some dental floss and slip it behind the letters and gently use it to peel the badging off. If a little bit is left, you can rip off some of the adhesive, ball it up, and then dab it against the leftover adhesive. THey should stick together and come off slowly.

anyone know how to remove the "530i" raised lettering on the back of my trunk lid?
Maybe I am stupid, but why would you want to remove the badge?

I knew a guy in the 70's who had a supercharged 500 HP engine with headers and straight pipes and all the other power parts under the hood of his Plymouth Duster, but he put a non-functional muffler and tailpipe sticking out the back to fool unsuspecting drag challengers.....

is that similar to what you are up to?

BTW the guy even had a homemade fuel cooler right before the carb that he put ice into before he went out to drag on the streets.
