At the risk of redneck jokes (watch it, I have an '84 "FireChicken") [hihi] I like it, it's almost certainly a photoshop of the new Camaro. This bird is styled after the 2nd Gen F-body, while the new Camaro was styled based on the 1st Gen. I think it could generate interest for Pontiac in the same way the Camaro is doing for Chevy.

However, Lutz has publicly stated that the Firebird name no longer fits the Pontiac "image", whatever that is, and will not be resurrected. But if the Camaro takes off, the Poncho dealers will be screaming. Lutz should know better - "never say never".

I like it. I use to have (and very very much regret getting rid of; I love that car and still do) a 1978 Trans Am T/A 6.6 on the shaker scoop (Pontiac motor W72 package 400 cid) The other model was and L80 with Oldsmobile motor (403 cid). It had the 6.6 liter listed on the shaker. The T/A 6.6 was the better model. AKA Smokey and the Bandit car. Smokey's was a 1977 and mine was a 1978 model. I would love to get another mint example with the correct markings/decals.....

I like the new look.

A somewhat interesting photoshop, but that's all it is. There will be no new Firebird, and GM doesn't need to make the mistake of introducing another Firebird alongside the Camaro.

Hehe, that was a sweet ride. Fast too. I burned up a brand new set of Gatorbacks in a Bowling Alley parking lot one night doing donuts.... The posi-trac on that car kicked ass....

I really miss that car....

It is the camaro concept just with the old style firebird front end.....think they will make a new Smokey and the Bandit????
They have always shared the body styles. The bandit trim has been with Pontiac since the early 70's for the Trans Am just not as pronounced as the 77/78 etc.. year models. The trim is based off the John Player Special Formula 1 cars during that era.... I loved that trim package. Not sure how it would look on the newer body style.....

front looks mid-late 70's and the back looks late 60's.
brings back memories of high school [drinking]
I was stuck driving dad's '77 Grand Prix. At least he got the 400 cu in motor and the 8 track player

Some 8tracks huh??? Listen to some old KISS and Bad Company?? I just ask that because those were the only 2 8 track tape my pops had that I could listen to in his 78 Caddi Brougham (sp) the rest was like th Pasty Klein, and the Sons of the Pioneers[shake]

Thank you for demonstrating exactly my point... [?|]

This is just the kind of attidude I would expect of the driver of such vehicle's as the Pontiac Trans-Am or indeed the Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang or the Camaro.

As for being jealous..... I don't think so... [nono]... Now a BMW Z8 or an Aston Martin DB9, I might get a tiny bit envious [thumb]
