I read something a while back, GM's longterm plan is to turn Saturn into the Acura, Lexus, Infiniti competitor. While Buick tackles Honda, Toyota, etc. and Caddy is BMW, Jag, Merc and Audi comp, they've come a long way but they have a longer ways to go.

That does make sense. Caddy, Buick, and saturn have their own respective reputations, BUT they are the easier ones to be broken. I think Pontiac and Chevrolet will always have the same reputation, and that is the iconic "American Car" wether that's a good thing to someone or not, it's still it's reputation, and it can't be broken.

Somewhat bland styling. As far as I know Saturn is owned by GM. The interior is decent but the exterior resembles the new G6 or the new Cobalt.
Yes, Saturn is a GM company. Keep in mind that this car is still a "concept" - these pictures do not show the production form. Those gauges will not make it to production, the aggressive tires will not make it to production, the slotted rotors won't make it, I imagine the rear fascia with center-exit exhaust will be modified for production, and the seats won't look like that. Basically, in usual GM fashion, the cool things about the car will either be removed or toned down for production.

It bears a resemblance to the G6 because this car is built on the same Epsilon platform as the G6, the Chevy Malibu, and the Saab 9-3. However, this new Saturn is built on the upcoming second-generation Epsilon platform that includes AWD capability. The Cobalt is the smaller Delta platform that is shared with the Saturn Ion and the upcoming replacement for the Pontiac Sunfire.
