Odd matchup but guess who wins?

The Germans deliver the best driving experience. The 3-series is the finest iteration of the sport sedan, and although the historically strong resale value and the free scheduled maintenance lessen the pain, it's definitely the most expensive. You get what you pay for.

The CTS is the 5er comp, why don't they learns how to compare vehicles.

Yeah but..............the CTS and the STS are far uglier cars than anything BMW has come up with. I have only seen a few of them personally................I think they stink.

I don't think the CTS and STS look bad at all. They are more angular, but I don't think they are ugly. My next door has a CTS (Pearl White) and another neighbor has the STS v8 model. I like them, but I would never own one.....

CTS is an odd one, because it is bigger than the 3er, (more like a 5er's class) but competes in the price class, so is often bundled with the 3er, g35 mix. nice to see the press back on bmw's "payroll" once again. praises are everywhere, i gotta test drive a new 330i when i can.. thanks for the article.

i wonder if they didn't include the TL because it's a fwd, and is300 because it is getting a little old. you can also bring up the case for the new a4, but whatever, their test, they do whatever they want.

yea Lincoln LS, and Pontiac g6? maybe you need to remember what class they are taking about. [;)]

TL because it's a fwd Hmm I didn't know the Japanese made FWD cars.

They size them down because it is easier to compare three or four cars to 7 or 8 cars.

BTW, has anyone driven an LS, I know Lincoln has been coping BMW for years now, but if I was in the market for an American car that isn't that half bad. (I'm serious)

i love sarcasm in the morning. thanks matt, nice to know i could come back after being away for a bit, and not miss a beat.

as for the LS, it has been sooo far off my radar, i honestly didn't even know they still made the car. it was a hot ride back in 2000, when they rolled off the line, but even in Detroit, i rarely see the LS anymore. maybe Lincoln should do some more marketing for it..

Well $44,000 for the base top end model, they are nuts, BMW 5er is far more worth it, it is RWD and only 280 HP- plus it depreciates like a stone because its a Ford. I chuckle at people who drive Navigators and Aviators, the Ford equivalent (fully loaded) is 20 grand less. [rofl] [rofl] [rofl]

my girlfriends dad did an autocross with a 330i PP, an Infiniti G35 and a new A4, sounds like a pretty sweet deal, it was put on by BMWCCA. Said the infinite felt way out of its league due to weight in the tight little course, but the audi did really well.

Is it just me, or would the CTS look pretty much the same if it drove around backwards OR forwards? [hihi]
