Tough choice, what are you aiming for? Speed or Comfort? From a luxury stand point, I would go with the 530. The B5 S4 is just too small for my liking.

Hmm...Both? I believe both are beautiful cars..its just well the S4 is more of my age, but i love the BMW. I plan on getting an E90 when it comes out, so i need to keep that into consideration in terms of reselling the 5 or s4.

Also what is the best radar dector to purchase?

You're paying way too much for 2001 530i.
I purchased mine with 59K miles for $24,000 from dealer in Texas.
It is 5speed with sport package.
Runs great!!!

That does sound a little high for a 2001 530i. Did you check kbb.org and stuff?

Anyways, it really does depend on whether you're going for more speed or comfort. The 5 isn't very big IMO, but compared to an A4, it's pretty big.

As for radar, it's basically btw the Valentine 1 or the Passport 8500. I think the Passport is currently in the lead. In CA, I don't think the cops use the new stuff so the V1 is still a viable option. I like the arrows personally.

Both cars are below KKB retail value, so yeah.

I know i should be comparing the 5 to the A6..but i don't want an A6..Its either the S4 or the 530i..i'm just undecided on which to purchase at the end of the month. S is located in Oakland, the 5 is in Bakersfield. I'm in Fresno basically. So yeah...

Do you know if bmw dealerships swap pre-certified cars?
