I am trying to install an aftermarket radio. I got a receiver wiring harness, but it doesnt look like it would plug in anywhere. crutchfield
That is the harness I have. I tried serching the net with no luck. None of the wires plug in to that. I followed the harness back under the steering wheel and it looked like it went down to the driveside kick panel. I didnt see anything that it would fit to. I want to use factory speakers it has six.

Honestly I can't help you with the wire harness - I've always used the one that comes with the head unit and spliced it to the wires in the dash, matching up by color. If you need help matching up colors, I can help you out. Bypass the stock amp - it's just going to mess up the sound quality.

I had to re-wire my entire car. that was good times. You even have to re-wire the front tweeters to the kick panel woofers like they are wired in the rear speakers.

They have it wired pretty strangly. If you use the stock amp it will humm and make strange noises as eric said.

I recommend running new wires, but it is a decent amount of work.

that wire harness should plug into what plugged into the stock radio. it looks exactly like mine, but i have an e36. though that says its compatible with 90+. the wires you have to connect are the ones to the new radio, and that goes by color, or named color.

running new wires is usually a good idea, if you have the patience, otherwise it might be worse then stock.
