My car is locked and the battery is dead. The key turns in the lock; but nothing happens. Now how do I open my car???

The car should still unlock at the drivers door? The only other option is have a someone use a "Slim Jim" on it (like a wrecker driver or lock smith).

I tried a slim Jim already. I think there must be a fail safe way to open the doors.

I am assuming that the batter is totally dead? Is there any way to get to the jump start post under the hood? The battery can be charged from there if you can get to it.

Hood release is inside the car. I thought I could maybe put a charger on at the starter from under the car. What do you think? On a different forum, I had someone suggest removing the grill to get to the hood release; but the release must be by the wind shield as the hood opens from that direction and also, wouldn't I have to have the hood open to be able to remove the grill anyway??
